The Delta Epsilon is Hiring!

As the Editor-in-Chief, you will be responsible for all editorial decisions made in the curation and publication of The Delta Epsilon. You will work closely with and delegate responsibilities to your editorial board. In addition, you will be responsible for coordinating with the graduate review board, ensuring articles are fit for publication, and creating an encouraging work environment.

As an editor on The Delta Epsilon, you will help gather, proofread, and compile articles for publication. You will also coordinate interviews with new professors, collaborate with other members of the editorial board, and curate math puns!

As a reviewer, you will provide written feedback on 1-2 articles per issue, or as needed (note that we aim to publish once a year). You will judge articles on their originality, importance, and presentation. Your recommendations will be forwarded to the authors and help maintain the journal’s academic standards.

To apply, please fill out this application by October 1st @ 11:59 pm. You can also consult this flier.

Our Initiatives

Events

SUMS organizes events year-round to connect students in Math & Stats with their peers and those in other STEM departments. Be also on the lookout for our yearly merch sale!

Community

SUMS is here to promote a sense of community in the Math & Stats department. We administer the SUMS Lounge (located in Burnside 1B20), where you can hang out and meet fellow math people. Our weekly Listservs keep the community up to date on the happenings at SUMS, the Diversity in Math club, and the department at large.

Advocacy

SUMS represents student interests by sitting on departmental committees and regularly discussing improvements with faculty members on the course offerings, internship opportunities, and programs in Math & Stats. Straddled between the Arts and Sciences, we sit on both the SUS General Council and the AUS Legislative Council.
